Then I truly won't be able to loose it in the
couch
so after 2 grand spent I will finally have a remote
that stacks up to your control pannel ! :)

Exactly my point ... The newest and most expensive remote controls are the size of my control panel (www.control-panel.us) and got a lot more visible at once buttons then all these Prontos out there right now.

See manufactures just finally started to understand that Remote Controls are similar to computer screens: the bigger they are the better they are for a number of reasons:

1. Hard to lose
2. More buttons (icons) means that every icon has 1-2 meanings, not 4-5 meanings like with your Pronto
3. Easier to use

Just take a look and tell me if you see similarities in the both concepts

mine: $20, theirs: $2,000:

M,

Hmmm... I see no similarities at all.. Maybe I am just
blind or Stoopid :)

As for my buttons.. They have one and only one meaning
there is the same number of buttons controlling the
same number of features on my Pronto as my original
remotes had.. The only thing about the I-Pronto is just
more overall screen to work with (that and it does some
other neat stuff)

:)

Ok, we will continue this tomorrow, I am too tired right now ... Here is one similarity though:

You got to use both hands to use either of these units :-)

This is really sad. Stop trying to sell us your board of remotes, we don't want it. Go away, I'm sure somebody wishes to purchase from you, go talk to those people. What a waste of bandwidth this thread is.

Brett, how can you still be discussing this???

Spiky,

Only because I find him very amusing.. :) It's sort of
like when a Lion plays with it's half live food while
it eats it.. Ya know?

Hey guys, haven't been to this thread for a while and I am astounded to see it's now 4 pages!! Looks like baseboard remotes are gonna run and run. Thought you'd like to know I tracked down one to a store in Dullville, in the state of Tedium. Can't remember the name of the place but it's at the corner of Crappy and Wares.

Can we all go home now. Feeling very sleepy in a "wish I was euthanased about now" kind of way. Must have something to do with those damn baseboard nightmares.

J

P.S. Sorry Spiky but everytime I see your name I think your a blonde vampire with a bad English accent. Not too sure why. Cool coat by the way.

As dumb as his product is to those of us who come here to get rid of all those remotes, it may very well be the answer to technology illiterate folks like some of our grandparents who lose remotes on a regular basis in the couch cushions etc. At least something that big & ugly won't easily be lost.

If you want to sell to people like us you need to make something a little better like found at this link. http://www.finditanytime.com/ While that's a pretty cool product it still has the stupidity of the clapper. You blow a whistle & you keys beep etc.

Take a product like the one I linked to, make each device addressable add the mother device to your usb port & point to picture on your computer screen of the addressable product to be found & it beeps. Now that would impress me.

not too sure, in my experience TIFs don't like many remotes, or many buttons.

Dear Mr. mdvor,
I too have been plagued by the plethora of remote controls on my coffee table, aghast at the number of times I have lost a remote in the maw of my couch, and bewildered at the number of times I have had to train family and friends on proper placement of my remotes. I have spent many months researching a solution to this predicament that has befallen me. Then, just when I thought all hope was lost, I came across your website... I applaud you.
After perusing your website and weighing all the factors you have pointed out, I have finally come to a decision. You have inspired me to buy...
A Philips Pronto TSU-3000.
Thank you for your wonderful invention. It has encouraged me to spend my money wisely and, I have never laughed so hard in my life!
BTW, the best item on your website is the girl, and just think, you have to pay her...

I had been wondering whether this post would manage to notch up 100 replies - it seemed stuck on 99 not out for quite a long time. I had even considered posting just to see the 100 come up but just couldn't quite get myself to do it. For those not familiar with the game of cricket, I should explain that 100 is a score of some significance while being stranded on 99 is not so good. I am pleased to see that the century has now been posted. I can sleep easy again.
