Joe... Don't worry about your product Idea being stolen... It's not too late to create a real POS like the featured one.

The fact is that gluing together existing products:
1 - 5 to 10 inches of 4" baseboard
2 - Two mall pieces of quarter round (ironically also a baseboard product)
3 - Several pieces of Velcro

This is not revolutionary except for he fact that he took the time to paint the saw cuts. The fact is that this ergonomic wonder was slapped together with very little effort and marketed with as much effort makes me laugh.

The thought that mdvor has a valid company to market and sell these is an embarrassment to American ingenuity.

I'm sure he has done all his paperwork... Set up a proper corporation and all, because simply stating "patent pending" without the patent office actually receiving and recognizing your patent application is a punishable fraud.

Can they be ordered by check payable to Control-Panel Inc.?

There are insurance matters and legal questions I'm sure he hasn't overlooked.

Just look at his advertising budget. He seems to think it true that there's no such thing as bad publicity... The only thing wrong with that is that it applied to marketable person/s or products.

Anyway... It's like trying to sell cooking spray as a new aerosol sun tan oil. Hmmmm.. Not a bad idea! just print a label, tape it over some dollar store cans of cooking spray and viola'! $5.95 on the website!

Soo.. mdvor... When are you going public?

Gee wiz....
I visited the site and it looks like this is for real. I guess keeping things into perspective some people may by this thing.
I'm suprised Mr. Inventor didn't mention you could just flip it over and it doubles as a T.V tray. Then he could promote the remote 7 (or whatever it's called) and go for the big bucks.

Guys, I am really surprised that you are trying to put down my product (www.control-panel.us) just because it seems like it is easy to make? Who cares how easy or hard the making is. What matters is how useful the product is. All your stupid Universal Remote Controls have not solved the problem, otherwise sites like this one would not exist.

Somebody mentioned something about embarrassment to American ingenuity ... That makes me laugh. Don't you hear advertisements about all kinds of pills that make your penis larger, or will make you lose weight while you sleep? Do you actually believe that these products work? But guess what, you hear their advertisements on TV, Radio, and magazines and people are buying them like crazy ... Well, why is my product that serves a concrete purpose is worse then the other products that are complete BS ?

So if I were you I would just Look, Read, and Learn. Don't worry at least I am not another Enron, WorldCom, Andersen, or others that took your money and gave you nothing!

You had to come with this idea 'cause you don't have the brain to program a Pronto. These remotes are solving the problem... can you program a macro with your, what's the name again?, product? Do you know what a macro is? Hey, does your product uses RF extender? and discrete codes? and cool icons? Do you use all the buttons on your controls? Can you hide the ones you don't use and make it appear when you need them? What about a backlight, maybe you can put a lamp on one of the sides to help you see the buttons! God make me stop!

I can't imagine myself with one of these things in my hands in the dark in my HomeTheater reaching for the pause button of my DVD player uhmmm, Nahhhh!!!! I don't think so...!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent idea for remote controls? who said it? the inventor?

Ok, so we're all having a good laugh at the expense of this product and as a side effect we are producing traffic for this guys site.

Just one thing.

Isn't advertising banned anywhere except the for sale forum.
Doesn't constant posting of the URL for his product count as advertising?

If he is making money out of traffic from this forum then he should do the decent thing and pay Daniel for advertising!!!

Just my 2c as usual.

Common dude, you clearly don't make a fare comparison. Your Pronto costs $700, mine $20.

Can you lose your expensive wonder under a couch ?
Yes. And then all your features are worth nothing :-)

Can you lose mine (www.control-panel.us)?
No.

Believe me most people's frustration comes from not being able to find one of their remotes, not from the fact that they don't have a macro, RF extender, or cool icons. People just want to watch a TV without searching for their remotes for half an hour beforehand.

Got the point ?

Is that the best argument you can do? Well, I guess you do feel kind of stupid when somebody shows you a $20 simple solution (www.control-panel.us) vs. a $700 gimmick that you are already stuck with. Well, keep programming your monster, while I'll just enjoy watching a movie. Oh, by the way, be on a look out … The guys that sold you a $700 remote control (the price just makes me laugh!) are coming out with $1000 unit, that is even more “Universal” then you current one. Don’t forget to UPGRADE !!!

LOL

Can you lose your expensive wonder under a couch ?

no, has not happened in the 3 years I had it, it is just too convenient to leave on the couch.

My 700 dollar remote took me all of a day to set up
and that was with making all of my own custom graphics
that mimic the look of my OEM TV Remote.

Once it was set up all I do is push one button (Wath
DVD) and the lights turn off, then my spider lamps
turn on and dim to the appropriate level and then the
Receiver turns on and switches to DvD and the volume
turns up to 40 and then the DVD player turns on and
goes into play mode, the TV turns on and switches to
the Component Input.

All of this from pressing one Icon on the screen that
any Idiot can understand....

And has my remote ever gotten lost? Never, not once..
When you own a 700 dollar remote you tend not to act
like a typical careless American and loose it. I value
my equipment and I take care of it.. Just like you
won't find any McDonalds french friend under the seat
of my Corvette.

I guess some of us are just more caring about what we
spend our hard earned money on, and other could care
less because they buy junk at wallmart. And for those
setups your remote control pannel is an instant hit!

:)

Well, well, well this is great, but most people don't value their right to be lazy as much as a few other's do. They go to Wallmart and buy regular stuff. That's why Wallmart is the largest retailer in the World.

By the way, I am sure this Pronto thing fades in comparison to what really rich people have in their houses. So, if they look at your setup they would say it is a joke, because ... "When I want to watch a movie, I just say "Play DVD" and everything just start working on its own".

Can your Pronto do that ? Thought so ...

Mdvor,

Well I guess "rich" people may have something better
although more times than not I haven't seen any "rich"
people with better setups control wise, gear wise I
have seen SO MUCH better setups but they usually have
something like a Creston LCD touch screen and LCD in
Wall Pannels. I could have went that way too but the
Pronto does everything the Creston setup can do.

Phillips is comming out with a new large LCD touch
pannel called the i-Pronto for users who want more
useable LCD space and more features. It's going to
retail for under 2 grand and it's the size of a 14 or
so inch LCD by the looks of things (it may be a little
smaller). It will be a very nice unit and when they
are out for a year or so, then I will upgrade to one
of those.

Then I truly won't be able to loose it in the couch
so after 2 grand spent I will finally have a remote
that stacks up to your control pannel ! :)
