Hey all, found these forums and thought you all might be able to help me out. I just picked up an HT-SF470. It came with a Sony Remote RM-AAU071.

I got my Comcast remote to be able to control the volume, and mute using the code from the Comcast remote guide, but the key function that I need to program isn't there.

I need to be able to select input sources from the Comast remote. Specifically, the ones I'd like to select are BD and SAT/CATV (which as the Sony remote maps those to the number keys as well would be 1 and 3 respectively).

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

The Comcast remote isn't capable of sending the BD IR signal, unless you use a JP1 cable to install an upgrade to the remote. You can use a RCA RCRP05B or OneForAll URC-8820N or OARI06G and setup code Audio 2172.

For SAT/CATV, try the following EFCs.  THe functions listed here are from a similar receiver.

video 1 08393
video 2 00457
dvd 61385
sat 15560
tv 45257
md/tape 44745
sacd/cd 08137
tuner 07881
phono 08905
multi in 28873

Test these by using setup code AUX 31758 or 31759.  Tap Setup and then enter the 5 digit EFC.  When you enter the 5th digit, the remote will send teh IR signal.

You can semi-permanently assign these EFCs to a button by
Tap AUX
1) Press Setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 994  (2 blinks)
3) Tap Setup
4) Enter the 5 ditgit EFC
5) Tap the button to assign the function to.

The remote should blink twice.

May I confirm that I understand this thread correctly: the Comcast remote (dark grey with the red OK/Select button) will NOT operate the Sony Dream System? Thanks.

I answered in the other thread that you double posted in.  Please ask any further questions in that thread and not this one.

My plea:  Don't double post.  It's hard enough to understand these technical topics wihtout having the discussion spread over more than one thread.
