I've had this remote for approximately 5 years. Up until a couple months ago it has worked perfectly. In the last couple of months, the AMP button began to work intermittently. I took the remote apart, cleaned the surfaces, dotted the AMP contacts with conductive paint, re-assembled the remote, and it worked perfectly. Yesterday, after the AMP button began doing the same thing, I again followed my first procedure. I now get absolutely nothing. No lights, no nothing. Batteries are new, 3 volts where it should be. I truly have no clue about this. I know that this is an inexpensive remote, and I have no troulbe with purchasing a new one, but I'm just interested in knowing what might have gone wrong.
