Does anyone know where I can find an on-line manual explaining how to program the Sony RM-Y135A remote control to get it to talk to one of those classic RCA DSS receivers? (When I say classic, I mean the original RCA DSS recvier that's black, about the size of a vcr, Has a door/cover on the left corner that you slide to the left to get to the access card, has the picture of a livingroom with the rca dog when you go to bring up the menu. It has a slow processor, is an older model, but still works very well.)
I've been all over Sony's web sites. I guess the Sony rm-y135a remote control never existed? The closest one I can find is the rm-139, which looks very similar.
I've tried to program the remote this way: First I press the code set button and release it. When I do this, the white VCR and DSS/CABLE buttons light up and start flashing. Now from this point, do I press one of those lighted buttons and THEN enter the code, or do I simply ignore the flashing buttongs and just enter the code and then press the enter button? Do I have to hold down the code set button all this time? I've tried both ways with no success. The code I've been trying to enter is 02. I don't know if this is the correct code or not. My guess is that it isn't, but I don't really know. I used to have another RCA DSS receiver that was the next model up. (Same size and style, but had a faster processor, had those neat screen savers when you'd put it on the music channels..) and the Sony remote worked great with it. I have no idea how I had programmed the sony remote back then and have since misplaced the manuals to that thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
