The remote for the TV has a single button for on/off

RMAV2000 says that it has learned that function

When using the RMAV2000 to turn on or off the TV, the TV power light flashes as if it were receiving the signal, however, nothing else happens.

Will occasionally succeed at random...

orig remote works every time, have tried replacing batteries, different distances from TV, have tought the RMAV2000 several times and still no luck.

Have also tried every code the book shows for the Magnavox TV's

Any ideas?

Try some of the tricks here: [Link: remotecentral.com]

Then, see if you might have a toggle-bit problem (explained on this page: [Link: remotecentral.com]).

Was able to trick the RMAV2000 to function properly (at least more reliably) by hitting learned TV power on the RMAV2000 and immediately hitting a channel number. Not sure why this is working but it seems to be working almost every time.

The timing of the remote's macro function seems to be sufficient and is getting the job done.

I will try some of the trick/tips and see if any of them produces more desireable affects...

I appreciate the suggestions already given and any more that you guys can think of...

Thanks, DAN

Just read about the "toggle-bit" parity-bit problem, I think that's what is happening in my case.

If that's the case, then there's not too much you can do about it -- parity bits are a real problem.
