I've had my av3000 for two days now, and three times, on different devices, it has "stuck" on a particular button, sending the signal continually and becoming unresponsive.
The first time, it was a down-arrow signal to my Dish 301, which was merely annoying. I had to remove a battery from the Commander and put it back in to be able to send a "cancel".
The other two times, it was a volume signal to my Panasonic receiver. This left us in the same situation (needing to remove and replace a battery to proceed) both times, once with the sound all the way down, and the other with the sound all the way up, which was disturbing to the neighbors at midnight.
Any thoughts?

I have the experienced the same problem a number of times while using the up/down buttons programmed for an Expresss Vu 5100 (Personal Video Recorder/Canada's TiVo). The only way I discovered to stop the sticking is to remove a battery which is a pain since I have to re-set the clock.
I am thinking of taking the remote back to the Sony Store. The sticking must indicate a defect.

I had the same problem with several of the buttons when I was programming my remote to change the channel on a Philips TV/VCR combo. Leaving the room with the remotes and programming the buttons again fixed the problem.
