Just set your reciever in CMODE.AV1 and the preset code in VL1000 should work. Press setup on your receiver and cycle through the options. Your reciever from factory comes setup using the CMODE.AV2 channel which the VL1000 doesn't have a preset code for it yet. But changing the IR channel to CMODE.AV1 then the VL1000 should control it out of the box without learning.
The only problem is your original factory remote will stop working when you switch to CMODE.AV1. So the best solution is to leave the reciever in CMODE.AV2 and just teach the signals to the VL1000.
