I have a Denon 1802 receiver with separate "power on" and "power off" buttons on the factory remote. How do I or can I make the "power" button on the Sony AV3000 perform both functions.

Some people would die to have that feature. But if the built-in code in the
av-3000 doesn't do it, you might have
go with a third party remote.

Chances are the 3000 will have the code you need, if not you may just have to use two buttons!

I have a 3000 and a Harman Kardon AVR 201 with the same 2 power buttons on the remote. The only code the 3000 has for H/K receivers is 4035. That code does not do the power on/off on one button either. I have tried to the scanning function aswell to try another code but none of the ones work. Is there another code I can try? Any way to update the code database or anything?! :)

Nope, no way to update the database, see your other message for another suggestion.
