I'm trying to figure out a way to program a macro to change to a specific input device on my Mitsubishi widescreen TV. The normal way on the TV remote is to press the Device/Input button, then use the arrow keys to select the device you want, then press enter. It's easy enough to duplicate this in a macro, but it only works correctly if your starting point on the device menu is consistent. For example: I can program a macro to change from the cable box input to the DVD input. However it only works correctly if you are currently viewing the cable box device. Is there possibly some 'discrete' codes that allow the direct selection of a specific device, regardless of the current device?

In addition to that thread, after you change the remote to a "discrtet remote" to get to discrete inputs press device then 1, press device then 2 ect. pressing device only gets the remote ready for the next command cb1

Excuse the newbie question, but when I try to program a macro on my AV3000 to do this, how do exactly do I perform the Hold-Power and 0-9-0? It seems to only take one button/function at a time. Also, is there a way to prevent the TV from turning off when you do this, or do you just have to always perform a discrete power-on as the first command after turning the remote into 'discrete' mode.

I believe you should turn the original mitsubishi remote into discrete mode Then press the device and #, whatever signal is sent, thats the signal you teach to the av3000.

This is what I do. I teach the discrete codes into a unused page(anywhere) MD for example. Then change that lable to "discrete" Then relabel "tv on" , tv off, input 1, input 2, input 3, ect. Then add that to your macro, if you have discrets for your amp add them then also, most DVD's you can just press play (plug in into the reciever for turning off, when reciever is off so is DVD) You can change the macro time on the component buttons to go out as soon as you press the button. Commmander off , muting, set twice, mode, system delay, (system on older 3000's) then component you want to choose, time, 0, commander off. remote will go thru steps then com off check function.
Yes add tv on to each component macro along with correct input. CB1
