Hi, I have an str-de975 without origin remote RM-PP505 or RM-PP505L. I tried to use a AV1000 and RM-VL900 to control it. But only the input selection and power on/off work. I tried both AV1 and AV2 remote control mode and all the possible remote code for the two remotes. I am desperately trying to get the menu selection function to work with those universal remotes.
I would highly appreciate it if any one can shed some lights on it.

You will need to use the AV1 remote mode, and did you also change the receiver to AV1? See this thread [Link: remotecentral.com] If nothing else works and there is a store near you, see if you can use a Sony receiver remote (the newer ones should work but I can’t say so for sure) to copy the commands you need.

OK I am an idiot ... I went back and tried everything again. Set the Reciver to AV1 comm mode and set the vl900 to 001 and it works just fine. The power, volume and inputs all work. Sorry for the fire drill
