when i press individualy assigned number keys for Dish TV channel selection, selection works without problem. when I assign a CHMACRO or other series MACRO all the numbers are repeated? IE: i enter 112 for HGTV station, when learning it displays 112 ... 112 twice seemingly correct, but when exicuted realtime i get 111 111 222 ... ending up with an un-desired channel ?

Try reteaching the numbers on your dish page, (hold down button until 3000 beeps)then retry your macro. If that doesnt work you can do a mini macro. Say you are puting in channel 206, get into learning mode (not channel macro) press lables to be taught press 206. You have to do this fairly quick to get the numbers in, you may be able to add enter if needed.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

thanks i'll try "mini macro" idea// i have tried re-learning numbers several times / as i stated they work fine when individually sent ? // in the manual example showing 1,2,3 and ENTER .... what is the ENTER all about ... seems to be a place holder or function to add blank space as it deletes first entry of four numbers in sequence if used ( Dish TV has four number channels) ... I deleted ENTER on on primary screen and don't know how to get it back without a major re-copy

Some cable/sat receivers require you to press the channel numbers, and then press “enter” to change the channel. With 4 digit codes like you have, you don’t need to press enter. The channel macro will only accept 4 inputs, so if you enter 4 digits and then press “enter”, it will discard the first digit, as you said above, so don't enter "enter". Try loading the channel macro with only the digits (1-1-1-1), and see if it works.

If you deleted "enter" on the primary screen, and want to get it back, put the screen in learn mode, then press and hold DEL and press the "enter" button, and it will show again. This is true for any other buttons you may have hidden and want to get back on the screen.

I did a remote today and they have a Dish system, did the channel macro and I didnt have any problem.
As an installer, I have programed 100+ of the 3000, I have only experienced the prblem you are describing once, it was with my own remote when I first got it, I did the mini macro and everything worked fine, I dropped a screwdriver on the screen (dont ask) so I got a new 3000, on the new one I didnt have any problem with the channel macro. And havent on any remote I've programed since.
Yopu might try a lighter touch when doing the channel macro (dont press as hard) Try just the number 1, by itself, see if it ends up 11. Also try using the numbers in a system macro or component macro and see if it does the double entry, if it does then it has to be the Dish numbers that are the problem, which only comes up when used in a macro. Just tryiong to give you ideas to isolate the problem, so you can then figure out a work around.

no success with the light touch approach
as stated before i've tried relearning number keys several times with the same "lite touch" notion
the biggest contradiction is the learned dish tv numbers function correctly when independently pressed
I have now discovered that when these same numbers are used in ANY MACRO it results in a sequence of three for one ?
IE: 7 returns 777 123 returns 111222333
(i first precieved it as two for one /// or maybe that is variable also)
iv'e tried system control and component select macro series
guess it's time for a total re-set to factory default ? or unit replacement ?

I'll tell you right now, the reason you're getting three repeats in macros is because the RM-AV3000 has learned those codes as one-time codes instead of proper repeat codes. The usual cause of this is improperly learned codes - pressed instead of held. However, since you've already tried holding the buttons until the remote beeps, then something else must be amiss.

Perhaps the Dish remote doesn't keep transmitting when its button is held down? You should be able to check that with a digital camera or camcoder (you'll be able to see IR through the camera).
