Hi,
I am completely unable to program my RM-V402 Sony remote. The only device it works with is my Sony TV, which it has always worked with and did not require me to program it.
I have tried every code listed for my individual components, but am unable to get the remote to function.
As far as i know i am doing everything right, (set >> enter >> component >> code >> enter), and i have even tried setting it up with the other Sony components I have, including the Reciever (STR-DE485) and DVD player (DVP-C660).
Currently I am trying to get the remote to work in a different room of the house using different components, specifically the Samsung DVD player DVD-S221. I have tried using both codes provided in the manual, 014 and 041, however neither seem to work for me.
Am i doing something wrong? Or is there something wrong with the remote?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Ah! Thanks so much, apparently I just needed to hold down the set button at the same time as power, didnt realize that.
Thanks!
