Have acquired a basic system that serves us well. Using the Receiver REMOTE RM-U301 I can turn on the TV at both the reciver and TV by pushing the TV. Button, this goes with other equipment as well.
I am considering purchasing a AV2500 Sony remote. Will it do the same? CAn it be programmed to do so? Is there a name describing when two units respond to one button?

Thx

David

The 2500 will be able to do it. You can either make a macro on the component key, which means you assign two (in this case) commands to a single key, so when you press the key it sends two commands instead of just one.

You can also make a micro-macro, which means you set the 2500 to learn and then teach it the two commands you need. A little tricky for a newcomer but it can be done.

I did not have any doubt it could not be done! Just a little overwheliming with macros/mini macros and so on.
Regardless, knowing it can be done is always a good thing.

Thanks Ron
