I am willing to purchase this remote, name your price. I really, really need it for my friend who I just set up with a Sony Surround Sound Amp that cannot be set up withouth this particular remote. I gave him the amp as a gift and I would love to make it whole. For instance he can't tune the reciever or use any of the Surround Sound except for on/off. Please let me know. My phone number is 415.250.9384cell or 415.457.3585home/work. ASAP. I am very excited. [email protected] or [email protected]

Hello Geoff,

I am sure this remote goes to my Sony STR-DE 805G. I am quite willing to purchase it. How much do you want for it? My email is [email protected]. Let me know. This is great!!

Anybody has such an air egg remote control RM-VR1

Bought a sony AV amp without remote on ebay
and did not realise that it would be useless without remote.
Please sell one to me if you have a spare one

Do not have an original RM-VR1, sorry.

But you might consider buying an One For All universal remote. Cheaper than the original remote, you don't need an original remote for learning, as you can control your Sony by upgrading the setup code AMP 0815 and it can also control other devices.

Tested this code in 2001 in an OFA URC-7560 to control a Sony TA-VE800G, worked perfectly. Did not realize at that time that it was a special moment in history to control a VisionTouch directly with a sub $100 universal remote :-)

In case you are considering to buy an universal remote and need more information, please let me know.

I have tried a couple one for all remotes and none have allowed me to get into the settings menus. Do you know if that remote model number will work with the 805?

Not all functions are picked after setting up the setup code, but you can use the Key Mover (US models) / Key Magic (Euro models) feature to add the missing functions for the menu. Contact OFA customer support for the code list.

Regarding the URC-7560, this remote is out of production for many, many years. But if you have already tried other OFA models and found that e.g. Volume Up / Down does work, then you know these remotes can also transmit the VisionTouch protocol, just use the Key Mover / Key Magic feature to add the other functions.

Dutch Uncle,

Thank you so much for posting your findings! I was very close to purchasing a new receiver, heck I almost bought a replacement 805 just for the remote. I did however purchase a refurbished URC-6690 from eBay for $13.90 shipped, put in code 0815 and ALL functions worked flawlessly! I would have to think that other OFA remotes would work but for those interested I can say with 100% certainty the URC-6690 works perfectly with the Sony STR-DE 805G Vision Touch receiver with no need to use the key mover feature of the remote. I can not thank you enough for posting your findings earlier, hopefully this will help others as well.

Thank You Again!

For anyone who reads this post in enough time, the seller still had several left
