Hello all,

Here is the breakdown of my system. I would like one universal remote to control all.

I think sony is the way to go but please tell me if i am wrong. I am up for anything.

Also please tell me if any of the remotes i have can be used to control the whole system. The probelm i really have, is that the sound to the system goes through my "old" sony receiver, and only it's remote works for sound. I have the new tv remote contoling sat and dvd/vhs combo but it misses alot of fucntions.

So here is the list and tell me what you think!

System:

reciever-Sony str D711

Sat-bell expressveiw 3100

TV-Sony KV-32FV310

DVD/VHS combo- JVC HR-XV c26U

that is the system; these are the remotes I have:

echo star tech corp- 119420 (sat remote)

sony tv remote-rm y181

Sony recever remote-rm u231

JVC dvd/vcr LP21036-038

Please let me know if any of these remotes can control all or if i need a new remote what should i get!

All the best and nice to be here,
Ron

None of your remotes will adequately control the system. Original equipment remotes will only give minimal control, meaning you will have to learn a lot of stuff, and I don't think any of your remotes have learning capabilities.

You will need a good learning remote with enough memory to learn everything you need.

If you like a touchscreen remote, The RM-AV2500 or RM-AV3100 would be good, depending on your budget.

You can click here and check out the RM-VL700 or the RM-AV2500 or the RM-AV3100 or the RM-AX4000 remotes.

You can read all about these in the reviews section of this forum.

I can't because I am not too familiar with other brand remotes, but someone may come in and help.
