I currently own the rm av2100 and I just replaced my UltimateTV with the DVR R10. Unfortunately, I cannot find any remote codes for the dvr r10 and the learn function won't work with certain buttons (like pause, rewind, fast forward, etc).

I'm thinking of upgrading to the rm av3100, but I want to make sure there are codes for the dvr r10 to go with the av3100. Are there? Is the av3100 compatible with DVRs? I'm assumming it is, as there are codes for the hr10-250, but I just want to make sure before I dump a bunch of money into something that won't be compatible with one of my components. Thanks in advance.

No, there are no PVR codes on the av2100. Yes, there is a code in the av3100, its the code that the 10-250 uses, 3202.

I'm wondering why the learn function isn't working on your 2100... can you describe the issue?

I can learn certain buttons, but other ones just seem like its too short of a pulse and the 2100 won't pick it up. I just get the double beep on the 2100 telling me it wasn't picked up or the signal wasn't long enough.

I believe I had read somewhere else in these forums of someone having the similar problem.

Many are having learning troubles with recent tivo remotes. see this thread. I suggest getting the OFA URC-6131, and teach the tivo commands to your av2100.

You really have to wonder why companies keep switching from what is known to work fine, to what ends up NOT working as well.

I have a Sony RM-V302, which I got only for mere $10. It works on my DirecTV R10, using code Tivo020 (Phillips Tivo). Make sure the CBL/SAT is set to digital satellite before coding.

It is fully functional as the R10 peanut remote unit, the only function missing is the 'catch-up' button, but I can live without it simply by using FWD or RWD.
