Happy New Year everyone,

Firstly, Thomas B_NZ, thanks for the reply regarding my initial problem of programing for the DAV 8 home cinema, very useful.

Now down to my next problem! I have now fully programmed my 3100 remote, whcih is a fantastic gadget, I love it, however there is one button that I wish to change. I have tried to delete and each time I try the whole system locks up and I have to remove (and replace) the battery to get the remote to function again. I have searched the forum and notice that I am not the first to have this problem, however, there is no reply for a fix. Does anyone out there know of one, that doesn't envolve resetting the whole remote?

Cheers
Jim

If clearing the component screen does not help, I am afraid that a complete reset will probably be required.

There are various causes for keys that lock up the remote. Sometimes it is the component being learned from, and sometimes it is the method of learning. Other times, a learned key that locks up the remote will not do so the next time it is learned. When learning, be sure and hold the key on the original remote down until the 3100 beeps.

To clear all signals learned for a specific component (page 26):
Commander off/muting
Set
Reset
Compo
Component key or label button
Yes

Thanks Ron,

Just a quick question, will the above procedure only delete the single component, eg DVD or will it delete all components programmed? (I hope I have the right definition of component in my mind)

Cheers

Yes, this will do the one component only.

The procedure on page 88, Erasing all the settings, will clear the entire remote.
