Is there anyway to teach the 3100 the SET button command from the URC-8910?

I just puchased the URC-8910 so that I can use it with my Toshiba to get into ADDR mode (so I can adjust the HPOS setting that does not exist in the 83's Service Menu). The command is SET + 0 + 1 + 4.

I would like to teach the 3100 the SET 0 1 4 macro from the URC, and then return the URC, and did not know if that was possible.

Thanks,
Travis

What you are doing is using the Advanced/Discrete codes from this listing [Link: hifi-remote.com], or the listing for setup codes 0060 or 0154 for your Toshiba TV.

Any of these codes can easily be taught to your 3100. When using advanced codes, no signal is sent until the last digit is pressed, so when you press SET, 0 - 1, nothing happens until you sent the third digit, in this case, 4, then the signal is sent to your 3100, so put your 3100 in learn mode, press SET-0-1-4, and when you press the 4, the 3100 should beep and the signal should have been learned. Just be sure to press the keys fast enough so that the 3100 doesn't time out of the learn mode, or you can press set-0-1, then press the key you want to learn on, and then press the 4.

There are many useful advanced/discrete codes that you can use, either in macros or to access a command which is absent on the original remote. If you think you would like to be able to use these codes for your TV or other components, you can return the 8910 and get an 8810 at Walmart for $18.

It might be easier if you map EFC 014 to key on the 8910, then teach it to the av3100. Here's how:

1. press TV
2. press and hold SET
3. using the down cursor, scroll down to KEYMOVER
4. press SELECT
5. press TV
6. tap SET
7. enter 0-1-4
8. press SELECT
9. press TV
10. pick a key
