Just picked up the 9000ES amp and preamp and my AV200 remote controls very little of the preamp. I can't change soundfields or get at the setup controls or change it to DVD input. Is there another code out there (01 isn't it)that will allow me to control it? Or is it just that the AV200 is older ( I've heard that the 2000 started out as the 1000 in Japan 2 years earlier) than the 9000ES and dosen't have the required commands?
I have an AV3000 coming (Ebay is great!), and I hope that will resolve the issues, but I'd still like to know.

The 2000,2100,and the 3000, all will require you to learn the commands from the orignal remote, hope you have it, if not you are out of luck.

CB1, are you SURE about the AV3000? it seems odd that Sony would make not put the codes for their best preamp (IMHO) into their best remote. Just seems odd...
BTW, have heard the story about that horrible remote from a couple of places. Makes the above question even more relevent.

Positive! Also on the new sony recievers which are set to AV2, the 3000 preset codes are AV1. You have to learn from the rec remote or change the reciever (and or orignal remote) to AV 1.
I still havent figured out why they changed to AV 2.

Okeedokee then. One pronto 3000 on order, and a AV3000 to be returned (once it shows up). I wish I would've known this before I bid on that remote. Oh well. Shame, I like the looks of the Sony remote. But I've been cruising the files section, and it looks like I'll spend a few evenings having "fun" setting up displays. Will the CCF's for the 2000 work for the 3000? Or do I need to wait until someone puts them up? A real newbie question.

CCFs can be converted to the 3000's PCF format, but they won't take advantage of the 3000's larger screen space or greater number of shades.
I can see why they'd add AV2, but not why they'd make it the default... really messed up Sony's own universal remotes, from after-market to factory original....
