Greetings,

I am trying to find discreet codes to change by video source on my Sony KP-57XBR10W TV. I have tried the codes that are listed on this site and they do not work. I also have the Sony RM-Y185 remote for it as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Shawn

What remote are you using, in addition to the RM-Y185? If it is the RM-AV3000, see this thread [Link: remotecentral.com] If you want to use discrete codes, you will need an RS/OFA remote. See this thread [Link: remotecentral.com] The codes listed on this site will work if you know how to use them. This thread will help you understand them better.

Ron, I am using the Pronto TSU2000 remote. While using the pronto edit, I have programmed my remote to learn codes from my tuner and other componants, but I cannot figure out how to directly change my video inputs without going from Video 1, Video 2, etc. I have also taken hex codes from other component files and I copy and paste them when building my macro, however I have only seen video 1, 2, and 3 on these.

Don’t know anything about Pronto remotes, or hex codes, so what I am suggesting may not work, but you should still be able to get what you want. If these don’t work, you could put your question in the pronto forum.

If you can make macro’s in the Pronto, and can get the video 3 input into it by pasting when you make your macro, then you can use that to make a macro, adding the appropriate number of tv input buttons to get you to the desired input.

With discrete codes, you could get video 4, 5, and 6. Then, you could make a mini-macro using video 6 and one tv/input command to get you to video 7.

Also, see (2) in this post. Johnsfine says he can translate efc codes into Pronto hex. If this is possible, you could get the discrete codes you need without having to buy a RS/OFA remote.
