I have a Sony Wega television. It has 5 components:

Reciever
Video 1: Web
Video 2: DVD
Video 3: Game
Video 4: Aux

The original remote to the TV has a button that cycles through all 5 inputs. I just bought the av3000 and I noticed the preset buttons for the TV have 4 items at the bottom (Video1) (Video2) (Video3) (Video4). When I click Video1 and Video2 they go to their respective places. But Video3 and Video4 do nothing. My original remote that game with the TV did not have buttons that go directly to inputs. How would I get Video3 and Video4 to work? And would there be a way to program one of them to go to the reciever rather then say Video4?

As well... what are discrete codes?

What is the model number (exactly copied from the manual or ID tag on the tv)? I am not familiar with a 38” tv. How old is it? I cannot figure out from what you say how your tv works. I would guess it is pretty old if the video 3 key from the 3000 doesn’t work, and I don’t remember any tv which cycled through the aux input. Usually, you have a separate key to access the aux input, which is not considered a video input, but is another antenna input. I could be way off on this, or I just don’t understand what you are saying.

Discrete codes are codes you can access by using a Radio Shack or OneForAll remote, and will allow you to control functions which are normally on/off (like power) as a discrete on or discrete off command. For discrete codes, see this thread [Link: remotecentral.com]

Oops... its only a 32"

its the KV-32FS13 and the remote that came with it is a RM-Y180. Pressing the TV/Video button on the remote cycles through all 5 inputs.

Reciever
Video 1: Web
Video 2: DVD
Video 3: Game
Video 4: Aux

The only reason Video 4 is named Aux is because I named it aux; the names Web/DVD/Game/Aux have nothing to do with it. Its just 1 receiver input and 4 auxiliary video inputs.

And I just checked the av3000... and I got it wrong...

Pressing Video1 goes to "RECIEVER"
Pressing Video2 goes to "Web"
Pressing Video3 goes to "DVD"
Pressing Video4 does not do anything

The KV-32FS13 will not respond to discrete codes for VIDEO 4 and above, sorry. Check this thread.

You can make a micro-macro to get you to video 4. If you have a learning remote, you can learn the video 3 command and the input command, and send these commands back to the 3000 on the video 4 key. If you don't have a learning remote, you can press the input button from your original remote 4 times (really fast) and it will also work (but it won't be discrete). For more info on micro-macro's, see [Link: remotecentral.com]
