Does anyone know if there is a discrete code for video 7 on Sony TVs. I have found them for Video 1-6, but not for Video 7.

Secondly, is there a discrete code for the regular antenna input?

Thanks,

Mike

As far as I know, there is no discrete code for video 7. The best way to do this is to make a micro-macro with video 6 and input, which will get you to video 7, or a regular macro with the same commands. If you have the AV3000, the “TV Tuner” button on the second row of label buttons is a discrete tv input, or discrete code 243 will also do the trick. Video 7 is the DVI video input with a multi pin connector; is that what you intend to use this for?

Thanks for the reply, Yeah this is for Sat hd200 and/or my HTPC connection. I thought about that, but I have two sony TVs in my family room (for sports), so using the TV/VIDEO input changes both TVs. The older sony TV only has 3 video inputs, and isn't affected by the discretes of VIDEO 4-6.

Oh well. I'll just have to deal with it. Thanks for the discrete TV code. I do have the AV3000, but hadn't used that one. Shame on me.

Thanks,

Mike

A discrete code exists for VIDEO 7, but you'll need a pronto, mx-700-800, or JP1 UEI remotes. There isn't a advanced code for it yet.

Edmund,

There is! Great except that I'm not about to buy a pronto for one discrete code. I did buy the cheap Radio Shack ones though. How much is the JP1 UEI remote?

Thanks,

Mike

You can go here to see which remotes take discrete codes and jp1 [Link: remotecentral.com], and you can go here to get an idea of some prices. You will need the jp1 cable, and if you don’t want to make one yourself you can buy a package at these places [Link: bluedo.com] and http://www.surfremotecontrol.com/ Also, go to the OneForAll forum [Link: remotecentral.com] for more info on jp1.
Have fun.

Thanks. More research time since I'm starting from scratch regarding JP1 UEI remotes.

I have a 34xbr910 and the RM-AV3000 and I am confused on how to delete Video inputs. I don't need (Video2, 3) and I want to add Video 5-7.
Also is there a way tp place STB 2 on the first page instead of the second? A step by step how-to would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

To select which inputs you want to add or skip, see page 91 of the manual.
Press menu
select setup menu
select video label
select the input
select add to keep or skip to delete
exit menu when done

To place stb2 on the first page (you can put anything wherever you want it-the code determines which component it will control):
Commander off/muting
Preset
Select the desired component key or label
Enter the 4 digit code
PRESS "ENTER"
Press Commander Off for 3 seconds to exit

If you used one of the label buttons, you can change the label to read STB2, or whatever (see page 79 of the manual):
Commander off/muting
Set
Label
Compo
Press the component name (in the upper right hand corner next to the power button) for more than 2 seconds
The label change screen will appear
Enter your characters
PRESS "RETURN"
Press Commander Off for 3 seconds to exit

Hi Ron,
I should have been more specific. I understand how to delete and add labels on the 910, I'm having trouble deleting and adding Video Inputs on the AV-3000 for my TV. Also my STB is a Samsung 351 and the AV-3000 does not have discrete codes for any Samsung products, does anyone have a work-around?
Thanks,
Michael

I am going to give you some general info here. After you check it out, decide which way you want to go and then ask any questions which may arise. That way, I don't have to explain a lot of stuff you may not need or use.

You don’t delete an input on the 3000, you just learn over it and change the label.. You can add inputs by using discrete codes, which are described here [Link: remotecentral.com]. There are discrete codes for video 5 and 6 only (without the use of jp1), and video 7 with jp1, or you can use video 4 plus 3 input commands in a macro. For video 5 and 6, use video 4 and 1 or 2 inputs.
If you don’t want to use discrete codes you can make a micro-macro on one of the video input keys. See this thread [Link: remotecentral.com], or you can make a macro on one of the system control keys or labels.

I’m not sure there are any discrete codes for the Samsung, but you can go to the OFA forum and ask there.
