Finally decided to get the VL-900 remote after going back and forth between that and the All For One 8811. A few questions :
1) I looked at the PDF User manual and see no codes for my Motorola Digital Cable Box, any ideas ???
2) Does anyone know if all buttons on this remote are capable of being learned ? Obviously not the Component buttons and the Power button.
3) I asked this before but want to be sure I get it. I have a Sony Receiver STR-DB840 and want to control the volume, mute and input modes with the VL-900. Will this be preassigned or will I have to learn the keys ??

If you want Motorola digital cable box codes, you will have to go to the VL1000. It is only $2 more at the site I gave you. You should be able to learn on all the buttons on the 900. The volume control can be reset on the 900 (or 1000) to operate the amp volume for most components, or you can learn it on the individual components. The mute and input modes will probably work; if not you can learn them. Since it is so easy to learn commands, this is not really something you have to worry about. As you said, you only want basic receiver control, and this will do it easily. Glad you started a new thread-the last one was getting a little long.
