Hello,

I've setup the RM-VL900 to control all my components. However, it is lacking some controls for my receiver (Kenwood VR-309). I cannot switch between various video input sources (using the Video 1, Video 2, and Aux keys on the remote). The audio source keys work great. I tried to learn the video switch button from the original remote - but the RM-VL900 will not learn any commands from this remote (BTW, it learned commands from my other remotes just fine). Anyone have any ideas about how to solve my problem?

I contacted Sony about this problem and they were of little help. They said "We suggest that you please try using the learning feature and learn the non-preset functions. Please refer the page number 15 of the Instruction manual for further information on using the "learn" feature." Great help they were. I started to play with it and found that you can use the learn feature but you have to press the Kenwood Video button multiple times for each video selection on the Sony remote. Try this:
*On the Sony, press and hold S for 3 seconds, press AMP, press 1 (Video 1)
On the Kenwood, press and hold Video till the Sony light goes out
*On the Sony, press and hold S for 3 seconds, press AMP, press 2 (Video 2)
On the Kenwood, press the Video twice and hold on the second press till the Sony light goes out.
*On the Sony, press and hold S for 3 seconds, press AMP, press 3 (Aux)
On the Kenwood, press the Video 3 times and hold on the third press till the Sony light goes out.

It worked for me. Good luck.

Can I set the VL900 to send different signals to switch my components on and off rather than the on/off toggle signal? If so how?
