Does anyone have a component code for a SIR-TS160 Samsung HD satellite reciever, I haven`t had any luck searching for one and the list I have doesn`t have any ? Any advice would be appreciated...I would imagine I could pick any STB and learn the buttons from my remote if need be....Is that my only option?
Thanks in advance...

Although you didn't specify, I assume you have an RM-AV3000 because that is the only remote I know of that uses the "STB" designation. Yes, you will have to learn from your original remote, which isn't that hard with this remote.

Sorry..yes it is the AV3000 and I have already learned the commands I feel I will need...Thanks for you reply, I didn`t know if a component code would get me more options...this remote is very user friendly.

I just brought the same Samsung, did you have any problems learning the codes? It has not arrived yet, just curious.

wess94 may not reply since his last post was June 25 and he seemed to have solved his problem. In case he doesnt answer, you can email him if you really have a need to know, but you should not have any problems teaching your AV3000 (you didn't state which remote you have). As wess94 said, the AV3000 is very user friendly.

I just bought a used ts160 without a remote. Is there a way to program the RM-AV3000 without the original remote? None of my remotes have a code for it! Thanks

No way. The Radio Shack 15-2116 shows a code for a Samsung satellite receiver, but I have no way of knowing if it will work. RS has a good return policy so you could try it and see if it works. I also checked the OFA 8811, but it didn't come up with a code.

The code(1276) for samsung sat is only available as a upgrade code on certain ofa/rs remotes, it can be loaded over the phone to the ofa 8910,9910,9960,or RS 15-2133(kameleon).

The code list for the 15-2116 shows code 1109 for a Samsung satellite receiver. As I said, I don't know if it will work, but it is in the code list. Is there a difference between a satellite receiver and a "HD satellite receiver"? If so, then the code may not work.

Thanks for all the info folks. I am going to try to and find a new OEM Remote first, and then try your suggestions. Thanks again.

The code you need won't be preprogrammed into the 2133(kameleon),but on Monday you can call 1-800-950-7044 and have it loaded over the phone. The code is SAT1276
