I an new th the Sony world, a Kenwood convert, and I am trying to get the AV3000 to work with my receiver (STR-DE685) and my combo vcr/dvd (SLV-D100). None of the presets work.

You need to change your receivers code, from mode AV2 to AV1. Only then will your v3000 control your receiver. Do a Author search for "immier", in both sony forums.
