Can you re-label the soft LCD buttons under a component on the sony 3000? For example, with my Yamaha receiver when you touch the phono button on the Sony 3000 it actually switches the vcr input on the Yamaha. This is ok since I don't just the phono input but it would be much better if I could re-label the button to say vcr instead of phono. No other button on the sony actives the vcr input. So its use phono button on the remote or custom program a vcr input and hide the phono button. Unless someone knows of a better way?
Thanks in advance

Mtgriff,
Thanks for the link but it tells how to change the component labels. I was asking how to change the button (input) labels. Now after researching I found that the only way to change a button input is to custom program it (learn mode) and then depending on the button you have decided to customize you can only select between 3 or 4 preassigned labels for that button. But there is no way to change a button label if it is preprogrammed (ie codes from the book).
Thanks anyway :)

Daniel,
Label Mode doesn't help here. After reading the manual from top to bottom and the review posted on this site. There is no way to change the LCD buttons because they are etched into the glass. For instance on my Amp page there is a button marked "video 1" that selects the "VCR" input on my Amp. There is no way to change that button to read "VCR". The only thing you can do is program one of the four buttons at the bottom of the screen and then give it (up to) an 8 char name and then you can hide the "Video 1" glass etched button. To see a list of all the glass etched buttons look at page 103 of the manual. You change a button but only to one of the 3 or 4 pre-etched choices. Example in my case I can change the button to read: "video 1", "display" or "epg" but nothing else. Because the button selects the VCR, "video 1" is the best default. Oh well, this is a great remote and there is a work around (as I described above) so I'm happy
