The LCD display can be turned ON with the touch of any button except the COMMANDER OFF button (operating manual, page 7). It therefore comes ON when you touch the blank LCD screen itself. Does anyone know how to turn this function off;. i.e., require an actual button press to turn it ON, not touch the LCD screen itself?

Press Commander Off and Light at the same time to enter the menu. Press Set twice. Press Light. Press On Mode. All should be solid and Light should be flashing. Press Light. Press Commander Off to exit the menu. Now the light should only come on when you press the Light button.
