My VCR remote has four two-position rocker buttons to set up the timer record feature: Date, Time Start, Time Stop, and Channel. Has anybody figured out how to do this with the Sony? Each button controls forward or back.
Thanks!

The four rockers will have to become
eight separate buttons. You will also
need buttons for PROG.,CHECK PROG.,and
SP/EP. But once learned, they work just
like the original.

I used two component buttons (VCR and VCR AUX)to teach the up, down, Forward, Reverse, Channel up, Channel Down, Volume up, and Volume down buttons those commands. On VCR these buttons control the normal functions and on VCR AUX (My name for the commponent button)these buttons control the programming + and - funtions.

That works for me. I used VCR2 and the custom labels to put the commands on and then lern'd um from the VCR remote. I love this thing.
