What works good for cleaning the touch screen, and what cleaning products should I stay away from?

Hold the "off" button, take a deep breath, fog the screen and wipe with soft cotton cloth... works for me ;-)

I'd avoid chemicals. I find a dry soft cloth generally does fine; as mentioned several times moisture from your breath should be enough for "sticky" situations (but if it's *really* bad, go for a water dampened soft cloth).

I use an eyeglass cleaner cloth made of a washable fabric. It completely restores the lcd display to like new condition by removing oily fingerprints just like it removes skin oils from eyeglasses. These are sold at eyeglass reailers like lenscrafters. They often give these away if you ask nicely. B-)
