The 900 is factory set to control TV volume when specific devices are selected like DVD and AMP volume for CD ect. I want to change the DVD volume selection to AMP, which the manual says I can do, but the procedure in the manual will convert all devices to AMP volume control, something I do not want. How do I just change the volume (punchthrough?) to control the AMP when DVD is selected as the device while leaving the rest (TV and VCR ect.) the way they are?

You have a choice of tv vol, for visual
and amp for audio. Or amp for all.
Anything else, you'll have to teach
to the individual devices.

Teach the amp volume control to the DVD input. While in learning mode under DVD select the + volume key and use your amp's remote to input the + volume key. Do the same for the - volume key.

I had exactly the same problem and learned the amp VOL on the DVD setting. Now I have a new problem:

How do I get continuous adjustment for the VOL key when it is held down? It is a pain to keep hitting the VOL button in repeated discrete steps...

Thanks.

When teaching, you must HOLD the button down until the remote finishes learning the code.

Tried that too, but then I get over-shoot where I just touch the volume button and the reciever JUMPS up/down the volume. Is it just a matter of trial and error when learning the signal, or is there a better way?

It's a Yamaha...however, after some trial and error I've got the volume working perfectly. Found other buttons like menu that I had to redo as well.

Thanks anyway.
