The Sony RM-AV3000 has the factory preprogramed with System Control1 (Power-Off) and 3 (Power-On) for Sony Components. I have different brand components, so I want to delet these presets then I can use them for my STB & DVD. If I use Sys.4, 5...I have to press "MORE", it is not marco at all, when Sys.1 & 3 are useless in front of your eyes!

I followed the instruction step by step (page 35), I got to "OK" with a beep sound, then I pressed COMMANDER OFF for more than 2 seconds. BUT all the data inputs from Sony are still in the both system control 1 & 3. I did it again and again! The bottom line is I could not erase these presets. Daniel & all, do you have any idea?
Thanks,

Did you go to the System menu and press Sys 1 & Del at the same time?

I'm not sure about pressing COMMANDER OFF for two seconds. Doesn't that cancel changes? Never tried it myself.

Yes, DeadKen! I did try "Sys 1 & Del" at the same time after I tried all the steps on page 35 but it still didn't work.

"SYSTEM & Del" used for erasing ALL SYS. CONTROL(page 36), for a specific Sys Control, you need "RESET", then "SYSTEM" then "Sys. Control 1 (or 3 in my case).

All settings require "COMMANDER OFF" before exit, that is in Sony Manual book anyway. Thanks.

I gave up on trying to make sense out of that gibberish they call a manual a long time ago.

I just deleted my System 3 key as a test.

Here is what I did:

[Commander-off] + [muting]

You should be in the SET menu.

Press the [SYSTEM] label

Press [Del] + [Hard System Button to delete] (Press and hold)

Press [Hard System Button to reprogram]
Press the key sequence
press [Commander off] (I didn't press & hold).

I pressed [Commander Off] enough times to walk out of the setup, and tried it. Works fine for me.

I'm sure there are short-cuts, but this seems to work.

Thank you DeadKen, BIG HELP!
It works with ..."DeadKen's Manual"!

By the way, my Onkyo Receiver accepts Power On from RM3000, but not Power Off. Do you know why?

Again, thanks.

I don't know which Onkyo receiver you have, but many have a discrete "on"key and "standby" key. If yours does, teach the "standby" command to your RMAV3000.

Does anyone know how to do this with the RM-VL900?

Thank you, Ron!

I got the Sony RMAV-3000 on June 4. For the first few days, I was confused when I tried to program it for my system. Afterward, I felt very comfortable with the remote and now I am really like the way it works.

Yah, I also did the same way like you advised.
