Hello, Just so you all know, I am new to this forum and performed a Search for my specific problem. I couldn't find the answer so here it is:
I am having problems programming a macro for DVD operation with my Yamaha RXV800 receiver. The problem is this - everytime you hit a component select button twice (say DVD for example), the input mode toggles from ANALOG to AUTO or from AUTO to DTS. The problem comes in when my macro sends the command for DVD input. It always toggles through to ANALOG input even though I am only giving the command once (which should not toggle the input mode at all). I tried every possible delay factor (from 100 to 900ms) and this doesn't seem to help. There's even a setting on the Yamaha to have input sellect go from "Last used" to "AUTO". This setting also doen't help.
If I select DVD by hand, it works perfectly. It's only in a command macro that things go heywire.
Any thoughts?

So the problem is the device is sensing the command several times? Try re-learning that command. Hold the button down until the remote finishes learning. A "dirty" code sent in a macro can cause the receiving device to sense it several times.

I tried relearning this code several times, holding the button down for different time intervals. Nothing changed each time. If I press the DVD Input button manually on the 3000, it works as expected. Only in a macro does it seam to go berzerk.

Have you resolved your problem?
I just ordered an AV3000 to use with my Yamaha RXV420 receiver (among other components) - I'm curious to see if I'll have the same problem...
I was also wondering how the remote's macros will handle similar situatons with other devices.
What if I choose a macro that sets my receiver to DVD (DTS or AUTO hopefully), turns on my DVD player and sets my monitor's input to DVD1, for instance.
If my DVD player is already on, wouldn't the macro just toggle it off - like your receiver? Or if my monitor's input is set to HD, I would normally have to press the INPUT SELECT button three times. I guess simplify put, how can the remote detect the current status of my components and NOT toggle them to an undesirable state?
BTW, I'm also new to this board & universal remotes.

The only time I've seen codes sensed twice during a macro is when they were "pressed" rather than "held" during learning...

I'll try relearning the DVD input code tonight using the "Pressed" method. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thanks Daniel.
For a simple answer that works.
Reprogramming the input select codes, holding the button down until the remote beeps solved this problem.

I also have the same receiver. I have been unable to get the AV3000 to communicate with it. What discrete code did you get to work for the Yamaha?
Thanks.
