My RM-AV3000 is starting to act funny. It will sometime continue to repeat a command until I remove one of the batteries. This has happen to me now 3 times in the last 1 1/2 weeks. Has anyone eles seen this poroblem. I want to return this remote but I do not want to have to reprogram it, it will take a long time and I will never get it to were I have it now. Removing the battery requires me only to have to ajust the time. What does anyone think should I return it or risk it that nothing eles will go wrong.

Have you checked if batteries are perhaps low? Any particular codes this happens with?
If it turns out to be defective, depending on where you bought it from, you might be able to get them to send a new one to you first, so you can duplicate it.

I also experience this behaviour on my 3000 about once a week. At this point I am not ready to send the unit back, but it is pretty annoying when you press the channel up button and then the thing "sticks" until you remove a battery. On my remote this only occurs using the "hard buttons" at the bottom. I have not had this hapen using the LCD.

This happens w/ mine several times per week. It occurs w/ both the Hard and LCD buttons. I'd guess it's happened about 10 times in the less than one month I've owned the remote, and usually it's just an annoyance to have to reset the clock. But one of the times after I removed a battery to stop the problem, it lost ALL of my programming. This was a MAJOR issue to reprogram all of the devices, and took over an hour. Now I worry every time it recurs whether I'll have to reprogram everything.
Is this a systemic problem on all RM-AV3000's, or does it just happen to a special few??
If it's an isolated problem, I'll try to get a replacement. Otherwise, I guess we have to ask Sony for an update?

This happens to me, too. I also had it lose programming, one of the times I took the battery out. The worst is when the repeating command is Volume Up.
I'm willing to stick with it a while longer, but my wife is about ready to throw it out.

That's it. I'm sending my AV3000 back and getting a pronto!
I've had to reprogram the remote 3 times since I received it!! Complete nonsense.
The first time coincided with low batteries - the clock needed resetting, fine. The backlight stopped working, OK, so I changed the batteries only to discover that the unit reset itself to factory settings.
The second "reset" happend out of the blue with brand new batteries. I did miminal reprogramming after that to test the remote over the next few weeks - seemed OK so I fully reprogrammed it and two days later everything was gone.
Has Sony acknowledged this problem with any of you?
