I've looked through the Yahoo site that Mr. Mod referred to in his "Discrete Codes" thread, but frankly can't make heads or tails of it. Can someone please post a simple explanation for how to find and add codes? I'm more than willing to buy a $30 Radio Shack remote to transfer codes from, if someone can explain how to do it. I need to add Video5 and Video6 codes for my Sony TV. HELP PLEASE?

If you want the tv to go to video six when you select the DVD component button, program the remote to first hit the video 4 button and then the tv input button 2 times. When everything is up and running, your tv will be on Video 6 and your DVD player will be ready to go.

What Bcolon suggests is the easiest answer.

Yes, thanks, that's what I've done in the meantime. However, there seem to be timing issues - I have to fuss with the intervals and with inserting time delays by programming the "Timer" button betweeen commands.
I was hoping for a more elegant solution. Anyone?

The only other solution is to get the code from somewhere else, like a Pronto or a One For All remote.

I think the "One for All" remote is the Radio Shack one, true? If so, then that is sort of the solution I was hoping for help on. I assume one would have to input the codes to that remote, then use that remote to transmit ("learn") the codes into the Sony.
So, I believe I'm left with the two questions: 1) What are the codes for Video5 and Video6? and 2) How does one input those codes into the Radio Shack remote? With answers to those two questions, I think even I can do this.
And, so, can anyone answer those two questions?

It seems to me, like going to Radio Shack to buy some sort of universal remote- and then having to learn the code into the AV3000, is even less "elegant". It'll only take 30 seconds to program the timing so that you don't have a problem with it. Just set it to like 250 or 300 ms, and you'll be good to go. I've been using it this way, and it works GREAT.

Thanks, ARB, but I have my own ideas about elegance.
Can anyone provide this information?

For Sony code 0000 looks like it's advanced code 162 and 158 respectively.

Daniel, does that mean that Video5 is 162 and Video6 is 158? This would be MOST helpful!

O.K. I hate to be stupid here, but how do you enter "Advanced Codes" in an AV3000? Or is that the Radio Shack remote your talking about?
I did this with an AV2100. Press "input" and "5" at once to generate them. The problem is that you have to do the EXACTLY together, or the AV3000 will only get the "input" or the "5". You can also try covering one, pressing the two keys, then uncovering it. Worked for me.

You don't enter them in the AV3000. And the AV3000 doesn't have the "INPUT + NUMBER" function of the AV2100.

Hi, Does that INPUT + NUMBER work with all Sonys or only the big screens? I have a Wega 27FS13 and an AV2100 and I can't seem to make it work. Thanks.

Video 1-3 should work on most every model.
