I purchased a Sony projection television with a remote(part# RM-Y906). Unfortunately the remote was missing a manual and one was ordered for me. In the meantime, I cannot get the darn picture in picture to turn off. I have pushed every button on that remote and nothing. Any advice would be great, Sears has been anything but helpful. In the meantime I'll just keep changing the location of that annoying box so that I can catch everything on the screen.

Usually, the PIP function has several buttons assigned to it. (ie, PIP, PIP Size, PIP Position, PIP Swap, etc.) The PIP master button should toggle your PIP on/off. Good luck!

There are six buttons that are assigned to pip functions. The one labeled pip only changes the size of the pip, but never turns it off. Thanks, Aaron

Aaron, Some Sony's have a separate discrete off button for the PIP/POP/digital channel features. You may have the wrong remote if it does not have an off button near the PIP function buttons.

A temporary fix is to put the TV in demo mode. When it starts up, it removes the PIP and goes through it's presenatation. Just hit any button while it is on the "Welcome to Sony" display. Back to normal.

Thanks, Rob, after some extensive research, holding for seemingly hours at Sears and Sony I have discovered that I do in fact have the wrong remote. This could have been nipped in the bud when they sold me the tv, but that's life.

Yup, the RM-AV2000 and RM-AV2100 has Sony's PIP OFF button (which does work on other TVs as well).
