I thought there was a way to program the channel + and - buttons to control a component other than the tv ... I want it to control the sat box from any component screen, similar to the way the volume overide works ... any thoughts??? ... thanks Ron

Dear Ron,
Check page 17 of the owners manual. "To teach on the Channel +/-, Volume +/-, and Muting buttons."
I have switched the volume keys and muting button to control the amplifier volume control for VCR, DVD, etc.
Because all three of my VCR's have two type of scan, momentary and locking scan, I have made the Channel +/- control the locking fast scan and locking reverse scan.
This also comes in handy when the remote shuts off, because when a commercial comes up, all you have to do is touch "Channel +" and the remote turns on and sends the VCR into fast scan.
The instructions for what you want to do, in brief is:
l) aim teaching remote at the 2100
2} Hold Commander off and the component button that you
want to teach to.
3) Press the corresponding button (CH+/-) etc. and then press the Channel + or - on your sat box remote.
