how can I program AV2100 to start 5.1 input on a Sony receiver for DVD ?

I suppose this depends on the receiver. Are you talking digital inputs or an anlog input?

Analog Inputs.The receiver is STRDE 525.I don't think I have digital input.

OK... does your original remote have a "5.1" button? That should be learnable. If not, I believe the 5.1 function is automatically assigned to the last device it was active on -- so if you enable "5.1" on the DVD device, the next time you go back to DVD it'll reactivate 5.1. I don't have experience with your model though -- I'm going on an older one I had.
