I have a digital cable box (Motorola DCT-2000) and a VL-900 and I have changed the SAT/CBL component button to cable and used the 001 component code. The default settings only cover volume and channel.
The remote won't learn Menu or Guide keys that allow me to access digital features. Also can't learn the orange scroll features from cable remote. How do I get those functions/buttons to work??

Not sure what to suggest -- others indicate that it should work fine. Have you tried different learning techniques?

What does remote do when you try to teach those buttons? Is it possible ti has learned other functions on that button in that mode- changing code won't delete them you have to use procedure from the manual to delete them, then they might work for the code, or just teach them as new.
