Price aside, I want a remote to use for everyday viewing as well as controlling all the components of the HT. I'm not that concerned with impressions based upon the remote from my guests, but rather that it will do what I want it to. It needs to control the following:
TV
VCR
Receiver
DVD
CD
IR Lights
What are your thoughts?

Do you mean the RM-VL900? If so, either will do the job... it depends on whether you prefer touchscreen or hard buttons.
