Hello,

I read that what I'm looking to do can't be done, but I was wondering if anyone came up with a workaround...

I want to program a small macro (3 or 4 keystrokes) into one of the LCD keys, and not into one of the system keys. Is there a workaround someone came up with? I was going to try programming the macro into an old universal remote I have, and then transmitting that as a learned key onto my AV-2100. Any ideas if this will work? Thanks for any insight.

It's possible to get a bit of a macro through the learning process. Basically get all the functions you want lined up, enter learning mode, then rapidly press each key you want from the original remotes in order. If you pause too long the remote will figure you're done and end it. But if you keep a nice reasonable stream of commands coming in, the AV2100's fantastic learning bit-length limits will allow you to do what you want to do.

You can also try pre-programming the macro on another remote, as you describe, but if it pauses too long between commands (as most remotes do) it won't work.
