We have experienced difficulty with the Sony RMAV2100 remote since it has been changed from the original RMAV2000. Sony has been no help. Can anyone shed light on the following issues.
1. We cannot program any macros into the system controls which have learned power On/Off commands. This does not include Sony product or any other product with preset codes. (ie. A Denon AVR3300 receiver will turn on with the learned power command programmed into the power button in the upper right corner of the AMP screen. However, when this button is programmed into a macro chain of commands in System Control Button 1,2,3 it will not turn on the unit. If the remote is used in a room with a Sony receiver the Denon command will turn on and off the Sony receiver. We are forced to program the Denon ON command into another button such as "Tape". Then that button programmed into the macro chain will turn the Denon receiver ON. This scenario is the same for other brands and product categories.
2. Even though an "OFF" command icon is shown in the manual in the upper left corner in lieu of the change button, we cannot make it appear.
We had none of these problems with the RMAV2000. Our accessory rep, HI-FI/TV rep, CIS rep, and local service rep have not been able to get any response from Sony. Surprise! Can anyone shed light on these issues?

1) See the User Tips section under the review on this site.
2) That's only shown when programming a macro and the preprogrammed device is a Sony. This relates to point #1.

I just got my AV2100 yesterday, but a friend had one for about a month and he had the same problem with a non-Sony VHS. But he originally programmed the Power on/off button through the learning feature. So when we tried to program a macro to power on everything, his VHS would come on and then cut off.
So we code search until we got the code that had his power on/off prestored, but we had to change a few of the other buttons. Now it works fine.
Try to locate the code for Denon tha will have a prestored on/off button and adjust the rest of the buttons and you should be fine.
