Does anyone know of a code or way to get the VL900 to learn from the Echostar remote? The 010 code provided in the Manual does not work. I called the Sony Tech Support line and they could not provide a answer.

Is this an uhf remote(radio frequency)? If it is you'll need to install a ir receiver in your echostar receiver so it will accept a infared signal. Theres a web site [Link: carltonbale.com] that sells($16)the upfit kit for some echostar receivers. I have the model 4000 and did the upfit kit and it works great with my 2100.

Yup, Echostar should work with the ExpressVu code. If it doesn't, then let us know what model you have (only one or two are lacking IR).

I'm having the same problem. Can someone tell me how I can configure my Dish500 as a Canadian system or what ExpressVu is?
Much appreciated!

If your Sony remote has a code for Canadian ExpressVu satellite systems, US Dish receivers will work with it (even though the manual doesn't say so). No ExpressVu code and remote's not a learner? Nothing you can do.
