I am attemting to program a series of commands to one of the Component Select buttons, the 'CD' button to be exact.
When I try to begin this according to the manual the unit double beeps and that is all. This function works on all other Component Select buttons. Also the CD button will operate the CD player but I am unable to program a sequence of operations with this particular button.
So far Sony Tech Assist has not been able to help. All they have basically stated is that if you cannot get it to work then it is not supposed to work. Even though the packaging lists 12 programmable Component buttons.
I was wondering if anybody out there has run into this problem and if so is it a defect in my unit or designed to work as such.

Have you deleted any existing macros from that button first? You can't overwrite.
