please i have looked everywhere in order to use my 2100 to control lighting and other uses i want to be able to dim the lights and also access the fan how can i do this and what do i need i know a little about the x 10 thing but what exactly do i need please help me

X-10 does not use IR controls. It uses RF and thus most of these units will not control them. RCA makes a universal control that will control X-10 units and IR audio equipment. But it is limited in the number and programmability of the buttons.
