How do I change?
The 2nd row from the bottom
5th button from the left
In the CBL\SAT field
From S. index (while in learn mode)
To "Record"

I'm two functions shy of programming my Tivo button functions into the 2100.

I'm using the excel sheet Lee Goldman created (email [email protected] to get a copy) to help identify slightly different names and teach my wife the new controller.

Thank you
Dave J.

Dear Dave,

Check page 19 of the owners manual.

You might need to remove the command that is presently occupying that position before changing the title of that key.

Press and hold COMMANDER OFF and press the Component Select button for the screen you want. Then press and hold the Component Select button while you press the space where you want to add the new title or a learned function. With each press of the (blank) button, it will scroll throught the label options for that particular key.

When you get to the label you want to have that key designated, you're able to LEARN the command to that key. Aim the two remotes head to head, and press the key on the teaching remote at the AV-2100

I just checked the options for that button. The only labeling options for that particular space is "SLEEP", "S-INDEX, TITLE, or PHONO". That button will learn the RECORD function of whatever you're teaching it, but you will need to use one of those four label options. There is no way to import a label that is not already provided.

Even though the instructions above were correct for scrolling through the assortment, you will have to live with one of their preselected choices at that button.

Thank you both for your posts. I was unclear from the directions that you could not rename a button any of the preselected names. She will learn S-INDEX really means Record:-) in Tivo land.

Thank you both

DJ
