Bought the sony rm-av2100 like it but will take it back unless i can figure out a function. Programed my dvd can go track to track with arrows but want to be able to rev of fwd by holding own the button also is this possible.

No. You need to use four buttons. FFW/RW should be on the properl LCD squares. Track/Chapter +/- should be on Channel up/down hard buttons (they're marked for it).
