How do you reset the Sony RM-AV2100 remote to the factory settings with a single operation?
I want to know this because today I decided I to learn how to program macros into the remote. Instead though I saw how to setup the "Change-" 1, 2 button which I also wanted to learn. When I was setting that up the remote suddenly stopped responding and froze. I tried turning it off with the "Commander Off" button but it did not respond. I then noticed on the "TV" component lcd screen, were normally the "8" button would be the "FRONT BAL >" button from the "DSP" component lcd screen had replaced it.
I then turned it off by removing a battery and putting it back in. It looked ok, I could switch between component buttons, and the light button worked. Except that the DSP button was still on the TV component lcd screen, but when I pressed any button the remote would again freeze. When it froze from pressing a button the "Signal Send" symbol would flash indefinitly and if the light was on when it froze it would stay on. I again took a battery out to turn it off but this time the remote continued to stay on for a few seconds.
I finally decided to reset the "TV" component button thinking it was some how causing the problem. After reseting the TV component button as the book says it appeared to have reset the entire remote because all the keys looked to be different then what I had programed and none of them worked. The key beep that I turned off also returned. I am not sure if this truly reset the entire remote or if somewere in it memory there is still something wrong.
This is why I would like to know how to reset the entire remote.
If anyone else had any similar problem I would also like to hear what it was and if and how you fixed it. Thanks.

See the review of the AV2000 -> User Tips.

Daniel,
Could you provide the link to the User Tips page for "resetting factory default." I have looked throught the site AV-2000 and AV-2100, and can't seem to find the paragraph about this reset. I am actually surprised, I didn't seem to see it in the owners manual either.
Thanks, Lee

Daniel,
Nevermind, found it under AV-2100 User Tips. Any idea why they wouldn't include that as part of the written manual that comes with the remote?
Thanks, Lee

I don't know why... instructions were included with the RM-VL900, but not the RM-AV2100.
By the way, the reset procedure should also work on the RM-AV2000 (but I haven't tested).
