I got my 2100 delivered on Thursday, and had the main programming completed in about an hour. A quick read through of the instructions was all that was needed to get a better than general idea of how the unit works.
I love the fact that any button can be overwritten with a custom learned command. I have fine tuned the layout of the screen to be logical for my use. The assortment of button labels, although not custom, do tend to fit the need. You will need to improvise a little, but within a short period of continued use, it most likely will become second nature.
One feature I do appreciate is the fact that even if the remote is powered off, touching the "Channel" or "Volume" buttons, turns the unit on to the last screen used. This makes channel surfing a one touch possibility.

Another opinion: It's a piece of cake to program, in general, and very customizable. It better be, since it's very short on device codes but very long on learning memory - a real programmer's gadget.
